Flexible Spending, Section 125 Plan
Visa Debit Card
The eflex Card allows you to pay for your eligible Medical and Dependent Care expenses at the point of service. This helps you to avoid the inconvenience of paying cash for services (in addition to your payroll deduction), filling out and submitting a claim form, and waiting for a reimbursement check.
This card works just like any credit card. However, there are three important differences:
- Its use is limited. You may only use it at specific merchants to pay for expenses deemed eligible by your plan (i.e., Drug Store for prescriptions, or Doctor's office).
- You can't use it at an ATM terminal, or obtain "cash back" when making a purchase.
- You are not given a PIN number with this card. If a merchant or service provider asks for a PIN number, just explain that this particular card doesn't have one. Usually the merchant has a "credit" option.
If for any reason you can't use your eflex Card to pay for eligible FSA expenses, you may submit a claim form with your receipts and receive reimbursement.
Always keep your receipts!
Whether or not you use your eflex Card to pay for eligible FSA expenses, always keep all of your receipts. You will need them if you submit a claim form, and you may be asked to provide receipts for certain purchases you made with your eflex Card. Please keep all of your receipts, just to be on the safe side.
